Hi Mark, PHEV users will get hit with both barrels (52.95p fuel duty for every litre + 1.5ppm) and as stated 3ppm for EV’s in 2028. Added to that, is the recent adoption of VED at £195. Moving foward mileage will be taken from the vehicle API ability’s or MOT & self report.
Its obvious company car drivers, salesment etc etc, are going to get hammered on what was effectively a false promise, similarly to that of diesels under Blair/Brown era.
Perhaps looking at the latest COP30 event, which saw the cutting down of trees to make way for a road leading to this event and the use of jet transportation, rather than Teams, that no matter how true or false climate debacle maybe, leaders will always prioitise cash flow over anything else, regardless whether disastrous or not!
