So, done over 500 miles now, with two “long” (ish) journeys.
The Sat Nav is fixed, it did find its way to Cardiff Central parking this time. The original map data we had must’ve been from 1923 or something. Not great (imho that should be sorted with the PDI, but alas), but at least it’s fixed now.
Did use the opportunity yesterday to use HDA – and there’s good, and bad. Good: i can actually use it, as opposed to the HDA in the Golf. In the Golf, when you disabled lane holding assist (which is the first thing i do every journey), HDA would become unavailable. In the I6, HDA works while LHA is disabled. So, bonus points on that front.
For the HDA itself: it works good, actually. Doesn’t bounce between the markings, keeps distance well (and not jerky when someone pulls in front of you), and is generally comfortable. I never used it in the Golf (because i couldn’t, lol), but i will use it regularly in the I6 i think. As long as there are markings on both sides of the lane – it doesn’t do great with just a centre line.
The imho massive downside to it, something that the Golf did do better: the steering wheel isn’t capacitive. It doesn’t detect your hands on the wheel by electric current – but by “movement”. So every 10 seconds or so it tells you to “keep hands on the wheel” – despite them being on the wheel. You have to slightly wobble the wheel for the car to register your hands on it. I think that’s pretty stupid. On longer straights, your only option is to wobble the car about – which could potentially lead to motion sickness for sensitive passengers.
I also found a comfy position for me butt – but my back is killing me today, so there’s more work to be had, refining the seating position further.
What else.. it’s not a great offroader, lol. The location yesterday was in a quarry, driving down “offroad” almost broke my spine. The suspension is (to be fair, that goes for most EVs) rather stiff. Uncomfortably so, at times.
As for an important measure, consumption. The trip yesterday took me from our home town to Gurney Slade in Somerset, back to Cardiff central, then home. Driving mix was Motorway around 60%, 30% slow stuff/City Driving (in Bristol and Cardiff Central, as well and 10% B-Road – if i had to make a guess. A total of 163 miles. Motorway HDA was set to 75 mph, speed limit (manually driven) everywhere else.

My total average consumption currently sits at 4.1 m/kwh over 524 miles, that’s partially due to the first longer journey using coasting (Lvl 0 regen) rather than recuperation. For my driving style, lvl 3 regen everywhere seems to work out good.
These are pretty good numbers, very impressed.
All in all.. Still gotta sort the seat out, other than that, we’re well happy with the car, and the OTA fixed our Sat Nav.
