Rene, during lockdowns she watched the macmaster, on yt, and that formulated her views, also a bit of a petrol head.
, owning a red alfa. And probably, secretly hates me too.
Oh don’t get me wrong, i very much am a petrol head, plenty of dream cars that aren’t battery powered – but i try to be objective.
Anyone who has ever seen an EV do a burnout will agree that some things can’t be replaced with an electric motor, i (very much) do understand that. If i could make the Explorer sound like a straight six, even paying out of pocket, i certainly would lol.
Can’t let that stand like that.
I’m on Octopus Go – What I don’t like is that the peak rate will likely go up following this quarter and come back down, as we get back towards summer however, how long is a piece of string simply because we dont know. Octopus Go (14th June 2025 – 13th July 2025) Breakdown by rate Rate Consumption Cost 8.10p/kWh 152.6 kWh £12.35 27.80p/kWh 149.7 kWh £41.63 Total consumption 302.3kWh @ 17.86p/kWh † £53.98 Standing Charge 30 days @ 47.50p/day £13.96 Subtotal of charges before VAT £67.94 VAT @ 5.00% £3.40 Total Electricity Charges £71.30
Man, i wish i had your electric bill. Octopus website currently not working, so i can’t post mine, but i think it’s comfortably double.
I’ll be honest, and i’d assume some others disagree, but seeing your consumption – it doesn’t really matter where you go. You might save £3, or pay £3 more somewhere else, but it’s £3.
Same with petrol, i cringe everytime i hear someone say “i drove 15 miles extra to the station where petrol was 2 pence cheaper” – yeah great, at 30 miles, you very likely burned the savings anyway (i think i calculated that with the old Ateca, a drive to Bridgend and back – around 25ish miles – would’ve cost us somewhere around £2.50-£3) – not including time spent.
Same here.. I can’t check our Octo Dashboard right now (not working) – but i bet that at most, we save like £4 out of a £150 bill. Not worth the time and hassle, for me personally.
If we’re talking double digit percentages, then absolutely – but for a 2% saving on a £100+ bill (if even that, considering we don’t know where prices go).. There’s objectively other construction sites in our household that i can save much more money on, with much less hassle lol. I’ll just do it now in a minute.
