@Footloose, as Brydo said, it’s very hard to give an answer without knowing how many miles you think you’ll be driving, and how close you are to rapid chargers. They’re increasing at an impressive rate – roughly speaking, a weekly visit to a supermarket and charging up at a rapid charger (50kw +) would give you easily 250 miles. If that fits with your usage, then I wouldn’t have an issue with an EV. (I currently have a BMW i3s, and would never go back to an ICE).
Don’t supermarkets normally have a 90min max stay?
I’m not sure about that, but if you’re using a rapid charger, you wouldn’t need anywhere near that amount of time. My local Lidl has a 50kw charger, Tesco next door has a 50kw charger, and the M&S next to it just has installed 6x 150kw chargers.
And of course there are many other charging hubs popping up.
