If they put a new tyre on the same axle as one which is nearly at the minimum then you may feel it, but most people don’t replace tyres in twos unless there is a specific reason for it like tracking. It is not prohibited by law and in all the years I’ve had Motobility cars, they’ve always just changed the damaged or worn one.
