A bit of a heads up and behind the scenes Info for you all!
As I’m sure you are all aware they are piece of legislation currently in force for the automotive industry!
A little thing called the ZEV Mandate! The basics are every manufacturer HAS to register so many electric cars to petrol/diesel (unfortunately hybrids count as none electric). The current mix is 20% so 1 in 4 cars have to be electric.
So if a manufacturer misses this they will be fined £15000 for EVERY non compliant car so this could soon hit £millions of fines!
With this in mind as we approach the end of the year, the manufacturers that are close to not meeting this may (and there are a lot of industry whispers to suggest this will happen) stop dealers from registering ICE cars until 2025! And it will be completely out of our hands!
This MIGHT mean for some of you who have ordered petrol/diesel or hybrid cars you may not be able to pick it up until January!
As it stands today the manufacturer I work for who represents 8 brands on the scheme they have no plans to do this, but that can change in an instant! If you are due to collect this month I wouldn’t worry, it’s more going to be the few who will be due to collect in December I imagine!

then the U.K. won’t allow them to sell anything as 22% of all sales they make in the U.K. have to be EVs this year rising to 26% next year each car they fall short is £15k fine. Ford are already around 750 cars short this year which is a massive fine already so if they don’t want to sell EV’s gov won’t allow them to sell Ice
