As Glos Guy says, much to consider once practical needs are met. With the new VAG models, there is a move away from many previously included features to chargeable options that add considerably to the already high APs. I previously had a Touran SEL, but ordered the Allspace as was £2850 AP and included all features that I needed and a few that I didn’t. To equip a Touran to the same level cost £5600 so a no brainer. Even on the new Tiguan Elegance, a panoramic roof is£1350 and the same roof on the new Kodiaq is £1750. Price gouging.
Not a glamorous option, but a very practical one, the Touran match trim is on for around the same AP and is better equipped than the SEL, including a pano roof. They have changed the excellent rotary climate controls to the unlit slider type if you can live with those. I am going to check out the Tuscon Ultimate, as designed and developed by a team that have not suffered from Wolfsburg brain fade.
