I can see why Motability are reluctant to extend leases as all the cars are sold on at auction and the resale value of a 3 year old car with 30ishK will be a lot higher than a 5 year old vehicle with 50k miles on
Although the sacrificed (full) benefits that people pay for years 4 and 5 will cover that depreciation, plus the additional running costs, several times over!
