    You could say I was lucky to be born just in time colour sets first started to apear. My parents were the first on the street to have one after dad bought one. I remember my mum saying some years later, dad payed what was a small fortune as it would only get one bloody channel in colour can’t remember which. Anyway mum told me it stood in the parlour, which was a room me or my brother were never allowed in exept for special occasions. When the first LCD flatscreen TV’s come out, dad went out and bought a 15″ portable, which a remember cost £999. Anyway I guess that was the 2nd rollocking he had off mum lol.

     

    Ah the parlour

    The out of bounds room for kids that had a picture called the green lady and nice furnishings inc a sideboard containing such lovely things as tins of ham for special occassions.

    Colour tv was a facination as never seen one before

    Remember waiting hours for the programmes to start and just staring at the test card.
