On the Skoda product heat pump video the lady says ” Not having a heat pump is detrimental to the range & battery capacity of the car”.
If you regularly do long journeys during the colder months, a heat pump maybe worth it. However if most of your journeys are local or well with the range capacity of the battery, a heat pump will most probably not be worth the outlay, as there will always be unused capacity in the battery, that will happly run the PTC heater, which is 300% effecient anyway (produces 3kW of heat from 1kW of battery)
