enyaq: 7 ways it busts big EV myths. https://www.whatcar.com/news/skoda-enyaq-7-ways-it-busts-7-big-ev-myths/n26367
Myth 1
Its mythical to think any BEV or even Fossil car will do its acclaimed range. Then there’s cold weather, which has more of an impact on BEV’s
Myth 2 & Myth 3
Up to 175kW charging.VW has the ability of 800V charging architexture, why not utilise it across the board.
There are 79,000 charging connections at 51,500 charging devices at over 30,000 locations around the UK according to Zap map. How many of these are 150kW and over or will actually charge in 28 minutes.
Myth 4
is nearly a yeat away before it comes into force.
Myth 5
BEV’s are in there £1000’s more expensive than an equivulent petrol or diesel. The entry spec Peugeot 208 electric costs £12,000 mor than the equivulent petrol model, something the average buyer or private lease, will never recoup the difference.
Myth 6
I’ll agree to, bar the raised floor, can have a negative effect, especially with rear passengers.
Myth 7
Very much depends on the EV. TheEnyak 60 may bost big numbers as did the 80 but 8.5s isn’t what I’d call fun. Thankfully the 85 came along however nothing a 200hp family saloon car won’t do these days. I guess I gor excited when Tesla came out and their performance car performance however I understand not every one wants that in a car.
