I think the best way of Motability promoting EV’s is to reduce the AP’s, as I for one would never have considered a Hyundai Ioniq 6 Premium with a £8,000 AP. However it was a different kettle of fish when they added the dearer Ultimate model (with almost everything I needed other than it not being an estate) at a very reasonable £3,500, which suddenly became a consideration which I went on to order.

I think the more worrying thing, than emails and phone calls asking if we had considered an EV, is if Motability is pushing EV’s, then does that mean that there is less likely hood of them adding large petrol and diesel estates such as the new Passat and Superb estates which a lot of it’s customers with wheelchairs or scooters plus additional medical equipment, need.

Could it also encourage Motability to raise the AP’s on petrol and diesel cars that they don’t actually want us to choose, as there is no way we can ever tell how Motability Operations actually work out the AP’s.
