POPS Much as I had admired the car, I had not considered it as it was too dear and it was not a large estate, which was what I was looking for. Although the chances of getting a large estate on Motability nowadays is as much chance as getting a unicorn.

So I was out seeing a Kia Proceed and just happened to pass through one of our multi deadership’s showrooms  which had a Ioniq 6 and was really impressed with it, but with no sales person about.

I went home saw the huge reduction in price and it had all the kit I needed, leather seats, electric seats, 360 camera and it was a car and not an suv, which I cannot get in to as they are too high. The next day I took a spare wheelchair with my PA to check the size of the boot and it was fine, although obviously not as good as a large estate, although it will only be a problem when we go on holiday, which I came up with a cunning (even better than baldrick’s) plan to solve that problem. So I ordered one straight away as I was seeing cars quickly disappearing from Motabilty’s list.

Like you I need certain things in my car which come as optional extras in other cars, such as the BMW i4 which was £2,000 more AP, plus £3,500 for leather and electric seats and the cost of a 360 camera on top of that. With all the optional extras not being insured, it made the BMW, no sense at all, not that I could afford it anyway.

Having had Hyundai’s cousin a Kia Optima sportswagon Gt line s, with all the extras as standard for the last five year and no problems at all all be it I have only done 14,000 on it, I had no hesitation in ordering one, especially after reading and watching loads of reviews on it.

If you go for one, then like whatever car anyone goes for I hope it is the right decision for you. I also hope to hear feedback from the ones who already have got their Ioniq 6.
