Update, I got a phone call to say Motability say no NOT ALLOWED. They changed their minds, as my car can schedule a charge itself I can’t change chargers. I have explained the Bluelink app is not fit for purpose and all the lady has to do is use the power of google and she will see lots of Hyundai owners complain bitterly of charging woes same as me. I also explained I have screen shots of my app losing my scheduled charging twice in the week before she rang to cancel new charger. Am I alone in thinking this shouldn’t cost me? I have been so worried and upset, I have not been back here for a look I feel pretty despondent.
Is your Hyundai x listed on Octopus as a suitable vehicle?
If your vehicle isn’t mentioned, you could tell Motability that you are paying over the odds for electricity as you car isn’t suitable for Ohmes tariffs and that you don’t see it as worry free motoring as thet make it out to be.
Motability should also be taking matters up with BP to find a solution, especially as BP’s Pulse chargers are covered by a 3 year warranty, which many Pulse chargers are still within that warranty period. Given Motabilty is the customer of BP, sadly its Motabilty that need to sort it, I wonder what consumer rights, citizens advice or even the Ombudsman would think if they were told that you and others were left hung out to dry with a item bo longer fit for purpose, yet still in warranty!
Why Motability isn’t taking matters up with BP to protect their £’s outlay and its customers is beyond me. Yet Motabilty are replacing Easee chargers that are still under warranty, that work perfectly just because they were probably spooked by another countries spat over the safety of the charger, which may bankrupt company is totally beyond me 🙂
