are they available in stock or does it have to be placed as a factory order?
I just drove out to the two closest VW dealerships to me. Both were surprised when I mentioned it, said to check how legit the news is. One salesman said he hadn’t seen a new GTD available for sale on the premises in all of 2023. The other salesperson at the other dealership said he hadn’t seen a new one sold at his since 2022. Hasn’t seen any new stock of GTD come in for ages.
Had no used GTD’s at one dealership, the other had a 21 GTD, already sold, on the forecourt.
Which means if the GTD is going back onto the scheme, finding one in stock will be really difficult. Hopefully they’ll be made available to order but the two salesmen I spoke to said they doubted it would be for long. Just long enough for VW to use up the parts required for a GTD.
Of course, they could have been telling fibs. We’ll see.
