Our supply is overhead and we were looped. Took UKPN about an 90 mins to unloop us and fit 100A fuse and new holder plus do their tests and write results of said tests on my wall lol.
I could’ve had a charger fitted on a looped supply but you’d have to have the supply managed by CT clamp as you’d be stuck with an 80A fuse so if you were using an electric shower or cooking and charging you might not be able to charge at full power.
Different DNOs might have different rules. I’d get it unlooped it’s not much hassle really, few hours without power maybe and maybe a new hole in a wall if meter is indoors as ours is.
If your meter is in a cupboard outside there’s even less hassle tbh.
I’d always suggest getting it unlooped as then you can have a 100A fuse plus you’ll be future proofed for solar, battery storage etc
