Hi Alex, The majority of EV manufacturers type 2 charging cables are protected to a ip54 rating (limited ingress of dust or water not deemed detromental to equipment) in other words weatherproof. Equally many after market ones are also rated ip54. Many 7.4kW home chargers are also rated at ip54 or ip55 (Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions, limited ingress permitted). These rated are deemed exceptable for UK use, for the equipment location and use.
I hear your concern and would like to idvise that it is possible to purchase ip67 type 2 charging cable from this store and are rated ip67 which means the cable is totaly protected against dust and aso protected against tempory immersion of 15cm and 1m of water for up to 15 minutes. That should illimiate any concens you have with the Scottis weather ?☂ 🙂
