Hi my wife is on Higher PIP but I was an essential car user for work so we couldn’t use motability. I’ve now taken early retirement as a her carer and will need to replace our 14 year old car soon. Looking to use the scheme but just want to check how much I will be able to use the car on my own.
For example going to an event on my own but using the car instead of public transport so that I can be there and back (and on call) more quickly will still be for her benefit in our view. Is that correct?
It’s rare to be honest but if I do get to go out it needs to be a practical solution being able to use a motability car if we have one.
