I would guess a hybrid is your best bet. Better mpg than a plug in hybrids and you will find something suitable. You dont get a cheap diesel nowaday, so its probably a petrol hybrid.
I was looking at the Renault Arkana, its boot is huge, good for your scooter and easy to get into.
