Sorry, so the recall will increase airflow to stop the accumulation of oil from the hole on the engine bloc so no fire.
What about the hole in the block and the leaking oil.
Maybe just drilling a few holes to let some extra air in sounds very temporary to me. (I appreciate it may be more complex than that ?)
At least smoke issuing from around the bonnet would warn you about the oil leak ?
