Thanks for taking the time to reply Chris. I think we will go for the petrol too (1.5 TSI in r line edition spec)as it will be quieter around town and I doubt we’ll recover the additional £700 AP for the diesel over 3-4 years. The AP down payment is very reasonable but according to the dealer it’s a 12 month wait even for the r line edition. Going for a test drive next week so will ask again.
