The newer one is supposed to be 150 mm longer but it all depends where they have added the extra length. The problem with a lot of boot space is not so much the capacity but the size and shape. My Leon estate had a very good boot space (620l) but the opening was almost pear shaped which restricted what would fit in and then most space was around and above the wheel arches making it useless. Plus trying to get 4 people and a large dog in, is no fun. So may be around the dealers again

This is one of those things I liked about the Skoda, not only is the opening large enough, there’s no massive lip for either going in or out, however, if you are dragging a wheelchair out regularly, I’d suggest the pack that includes the adjustable boot floor, it enables a lift to run flat from door to back seats.  The width is quite a regular shape, unlike many with notable wheel arches and there’s under floor storage for cables (although experience says never pack cables under the floor then fill a boot with luggage for a journey, you’ll hit a point where you realise your mistake) and depth enough to give confidence that we’ll need to be going away for a long time in order to feel that the boot isn’t big enough.  I’d even have felt it plenty back when I was coaching rugby, and there were huge sacks of balls and kit to be taken everywhere.

You’ll definitely get 4 adults in the Enyaq, with an arm rest with drinks holder for the rear passengers’ comfort.  Unless the large dog is really of small horse dimensions, I would expect you could get some luggage plus dog in there for going away.
