Are you sure you can just hand the car back any time during a lease extension when buying privately? I understood that was fine if you ordered a new Motability vehicle but is it still true if you just terminate the lease earlier than the end of the 1 or 2 year extension?
I asked Motability this specific question when we were contemplating leaving the scheme previously and was told yes – it works the same. However, that was a few years ago now and Motability do have a habit of changing things, so rather than take our word for it I would call them and ask the question. I always find them to be extremely helpful, but knowledge can vary by call handler, so if they say ‘no’ it’s worth asking them to double check!
