I would extend Mike. If you extend for an extra two years you can at any time in that extended period order a new car. I’m sure the Motability will be getting more manufacturers and cars back onto the scheme in the coming months, with the downturn in car sales, lack of economic growth and so on.
I would agree but it’s going to be more money after April and, with the current manufacturing trend going towards petrol, hybrid and electric cars with only a few outliers continuing with diesel, he’ll probably end up buying then. Financially it kind of makes sense to bail on the scheme at the end of the lease and get the most suitable and reliable of the two he prefers. At least he’ll be spending similar money but receiving his mobility allowance.
To be honest (and not trying to push in any direction) I’d have a look at the new hybrid Tucson just to be sure it doesn’t do what you want, better to evidentially exclude the car. Then test the other two options, again evidentially exclude or not those, then test drive the Audi and Merc and pick the car you prefer best.
I'm Autistic, if I say something you find offensive, please let me know, I can guarantee it was unintentional.
I'll try to give my honest opinion but am always open to learning.
