    The MB account sadly doesn’t mean much other than the dealership told them that they’re going to order the car, which they may or may not do.

    The best way to ensure that the car is ordered is to ask for the commission number on the day you order. If he doesn’t give it to you, ring the next day and ask again – doesn’t matter how much pressure it takes. Call daily until he supplies you with that number.

    When we ordered our GTE (still waiting..) in 2021, i told our saleslady that i’d like the commission number immediately, and i got it via SMS on our drive home. That way i knew the car was for certain in their system and in queue.

    It is an absolutely ridiculous habit by dealerships (doesn’t matter which marque, we’ve seen it with expensive brands like Volvo as well as cheaper ones like Renault), if you want to be absolutely certain you do have to follow up on it. It’s not very common, but it does happen way more often than it should.
