not to be a war monger or anything, but with my history of investigative journalism in the tech world, I can 100% tell you and would of told you long before I got my first ev in december that the whole conspiracy of EV footprint is worse than ice due to mining etc is a load of old horse, paid for and pushed by oil companies.. There is a reason big oil companies are pushing money to manufactures to develop hydrogen cars, so we can all go to their forecourts and still fill up.
oh the colbalt mining argument poor conditions ect destorying the jungle, its the same as mining steel, alu, and other products used in ice cars still, then add the 1,000,000s of tonnes of co2 pumped out by smelting plants making these engine blocks, they dont just magically appear.
its the same issue of the whole farms/ meat industry
