I have an appointment in a few days time for the one closest to me – I will tell them what other dealers have said in terms of allowing the add-ons, let’s see what their excuse in person!
It will be ahhh ahhh – but but but – mmmmmmmmmmm you custom is important to us let me ask my manager see what I can do Mr Effcay! or it will be, ahhh ahhh – but but – mmmmmm “I dont want to tell him we want to off load cars oooooooh what shall I say”, let me just speak with the manager As much as I’d like to tell them to their face, There comes a times you can’t be bothered and move on to the next dealer. Or has @GlosGuy says ring around a few even if it means travelling a bit 9/10 if you get from a dealer further away they fill up with a full tank of fuel.
Haha – that made me LOL, although I do agree that I will never get a straightforward response. What bugs me the most is that they try and be over friendly like they are doing me a great favour and what they are doing instead is great deception!
If it is that they want to offload cars as suspected, the least they can do is offer you a fair discount of the AP.
I do not know how so many users get discounts… my haggling skills are non-existent and I am always made to feel like I am being greedy whenever I have tried!
If it adds to the conversation I’ve had the same experience with a Toyota dealer (2020) and a Lexus dealer (2022). BMW (2010/2012) were always happy to let me loose with the options list, as were Volkswagen (2015). Most odd if you ask me. Something about vehicle codes or somesuch excuse.
Similar experience to me, when I had the mini countrman (2012) and mercedes GLA (2017) I was able to load all the options I wanted so was really confused when Nissan sand no I cannot do that. I drive the cars for at least 5 years before changing, so would be happy to invest in it as I know it I will use it to the max in the lifespan of lease.
