Well after following this thread of behalf of my dad for the last few months, my dad got the shock phone call from the local dealer to say that his car had arrived and would be ready on Friday pending getting the hoist he needs fitted on Thursday.
This is despite an email from the dealer saying the below on the 6th October.

No build date so far.
We are hoping for some units to arrive before the end of the year though.
Fingers crossed!
Just for everyone’s info he ordered his car on the 4th April with a hoist and was successful in a grant towards the cost of the AP and the hoist.
Car ordered was –
Kia Sportage 1.6 T-GDi GT-Line S Hybrid in Red with black roof
