Personally, they won’t return until the latter half of 2023 at the earliest. I have no inside knowledge but they are obviously able to sell what they are building to retail customers at or near retail prices without having to look to leasing companies to sell excess stock at a discount. I believe Mercedes will operate on the same basis.
Granted Audi have returned to the scheme albeit with 1.0 engines that they can source from within the VAG group. Something the other so called “premium” brands are unable to do.
