If gov were serious they would’ve introduced 0% homeowner loans for solar & battery installs plus made it compulsory for all new builds to include both & say all council & housing association properties must be fitted ASAP & fund it. That’d take a lot of pressure off the grid, help the climate & help everyone with their energy bills. Imagine if they’d done that in 2010, it would’ve been a huge shot in the arm to the economy & helped businesses too.
As for charging your EV, even with current prices Octopus are still offering off peak of 7.5p/kwh if you have an EV so it can still be extremely affordable still.
