Hi Ian – further to your question about the speed warning – firstly I hope you found the speed limiter ok – secondly just to say I find myself using it all the time now when there is a speed limit that can easily be broken – it seems to be the season for police with speed guns under bridges or behind vegetation – if there is a lot going on ie cyclists or a line of traffic etc it is easy to speed creep especially to get quickly and safely past cyclists. Cameras take no account of the situation – I did my advanced when I was riding motorbikes and that was one of the things that was drummed into us – making progress past obstacles ie going over the speed limit to quickly and safely negotiate an obstacle was encouraged.
Just a word of warning about the speed indications – During a previous motorway journey, the Nav indicated the speed limit was 80mph, when in fact it was 60mph.
Today, the Nav ‘binged’ informing me of a speed camera in the 30mph zone I was driving through. When I checked the screen, it informed me the speed limit was 47mph!
If these mistakes are replicated by the speed limiter system, youre going to get a ticket……
