The money is being given to the claimant regardless of what they spend it on, so stopping people abusing the system and Motability wouldn’t save a penny. They could buy fags and booze with the money and no-one would bat an eyelid, they could even use it, and some probably do, to buy illegal drugs, kids rent, a big party, it makes no difference to anyone, why a car is such an emotive subject baffles me. Or should we be putting trackers around all claimants ankles, tracking everything they do? I will reiterate, the only thing wrong with a driver abusing the system is it is illegal to use a zero tax car unless you are disabled, otherwise nobody really cares.
