Just had an update from hyundai as my dealer hasn’t replied for 2 weeks. Kona was ordered in March, delivery claimed of July, moved to September, now they said it’ll be ready to collect on the first week of December. Wish motability would have a fair system of this and reimburse us if we’ve ordered an electric car with an expected delivery, given their rising profits. Won’t be cancelling but it seems its luck of the draw with the konas as some of you have had them in a few weeks/months and others so long. Plus installing a charger so early on seems pointless as I could have moved but ultimately it is what it is i guess. The AP isn’t gonna be easy to afford now fuel and bills will be so expensive by then either.
It is really frustrating when delivery dates keep moving in the wrong direction. Many of us have experienced this, April, then June but at the end it went from August to July, so I would stay positive as its possible December could change to November. I agree with the charger. I had mine installed in February so I have lost out on 5 months of warranty. Regarding rising profits, this is quite complex, as global events have given rise to second hand prices around 25% higher than forecast just a couple of years ago. It’s quite possible that we will see an adjustment in the next couple of years so any financial director would wish to adopt a cautious approach. Nevertheless Motability are giving every member £250 when they change their car on top of any bonuses. I feel this should be the business model so, funds permitting in the future, this could be a way forward. A very complex issue and, as such, I shall say no more as I don’t wish this excellent thread to drift off topic.</p>
