In relation to that, what caught my eye is that Dowden resigned, with a clear message to Boris Johnson: ““Our supporters are distressed and disappointed by recent events, and I share their feelings.” Which, of course, Boris Johnson argues isn’t about Partygate, Tories grooming children, or Tories watching porn in parliament – voters are still distressed by Covid, that’s it. “Asked if the defeat was because of his leadership, Johnson said the results should be examined in the light of Covid and the cost of living crisis.” In the answer to Dowdens resignation, he says: “Whilst I completely understand your disappointment with the by-election results, this government was elected with a historic mandate just over two years ago to unite and level up. I look forward to continuing to work together on that.” I’m not sure if the guy genuinely is delusional, or whispers himself to sleep by repeating “they must love me” and “it’s not me, it’s them”. That work so far has done wonders for all of us, at least people can proudly point at their blue passports for identification at the food banks that are running dry due to the vast increase of people requiring them. This isn’t even about conservative or liberal anymore. Don’t care whether or not you’re a Brexit supporter, Pro-EU, tory, labour – looking at Johnson and being okay with him desperately clinging to power as if his life depends on it, constantly, delusional quoting that it’s “the will of the people” etc.. He’s a joke. A really bad one. And the sooner he goes, and is replaced by a guy that genuinely has the interest of the country in mind, rather than his own or that of his leeches sucking his teats, the better. Self-serving pricks. The entire tory front bench, with Johnson and Mr. “i’m proud of my awful suit” Rees-Mogg at the front, should get fired to the moon.
