BP Pulse would not even look at our install until we had both the upgraded fuse and the meter tails changed. We had to organise both, the fuse was easy enough to sort out, although the DNO lost our case and took a while as a result.
We paid an electrician to swap out the tails, was about £30 in total for that – its 2 short wires.
BP Pulse then ignored us totally so I gave up and bought a charge point elsewhere.
We never fitted an isolation switch, Henley blocks or anything like that. Our electrician simply fitted an RCBO type A to one of our consumer units and ran the cables for the charger from that (I had the the charge point supplier supply the relevant RCBO their system needed to ensure it was all correct).
