The problem I have with DSG is that it doesn’t want to wear out the clutches so just smashes the gear straight in when you tap the throttle! Then you have to jump on the brake to try and restrain it like reigning in a pack of dogs on a sled.
I hate the lack of control around pull aways and parking…and as mentioned on my own thread, found it to trigger my vertigo badly.
With an electric motor or a CVT box, I’d like to hope there’s a bit more control as there are no clutches to worry about…but haven’t driven either so far. I did briefly consider an ID3…until I saw the interior! More Up! quality than Golf quality despite the size.
