thanks for the replies everyone. I’ve checked the booklets and I’m definitely looking at the PIP advanced payment. I was speaking to the motability specialist from the dealership but we’ve got cut off and I haven’t managed to get back through. I’ve sent an email but I’m going to keep ringing. Can I ask though are the dealerships allowed to charge a bigger advanced payment than what’s advertised on the motability site? I suppose I’m curious as well if this is legal or not.
No they can’t charge more. The money doesn’t even go to them, it goes to Motability. They get a fixed handling fee from Motability plus the car counts towards their bonus targets.
