The post appears to suggest the expansion of available cars regardless of price and whilst not a popular comment we have to accept the scheme must be “politically acceptable” in so far as the treasury support/subsidise with VAT and other tax benefits and to apply this model to all cars regardless of price would be very difficult to justify. Hence there are price limits, BHP limits etc, with some exceptions where Motability deem it acceptable. As many have already said their overriding objective is to give disabled people independence which I think it does, whilst accepting there will always be the odd exception as is the case with all aspects of life. We are seeing Motability taking a sensible and balanced approach to electric cars.
