    Oh Tharg, they really are bastards.

    I had to go into a mixed ‘recovery ward’ of 4 beds after having a lumbar puncture (blood on the floor of the room where he stuck a needle in my spine and left an open hole – Basingstoke is another struck off my list) and the nurse insisted I use a bed pan – while having to remain flat on my back.

    So behind a curtain in a mixed ward with 3 other patients and their visitors (including children) we wasted 5 minutes mucking about before I said in a firm voice “Well this isn’t going to work, is it.  It’s either the toilets or a nasty mess to clean up” and Lo!  Suddenly I was allowed to walk to the loos after all, albeit with her standing outside the open door to make sure I didn’t fall over or anything.  Damn glad I only had to stay there for two hours.
