My experience with the 116d wasn’t with the actual 1-Series, just the same 134bhp, 1.5L triple that featured on the Mini Hatchback. Paired with the 8-speed automatic gearbox, it went like stink and pulled very swiftly throughout all gears. Although, the was a fair amount of roar from the engine bay.
