Things will get better for EVs.
The hassle of a 40 minute charge or hiring another car is not something that many disabled people could put up with. Ease of use of a vehicle is surely essential for most of us and being guinea pigs for EVs is best left to the able bodied.
EVs are currently for the better off, living in suitable properties and able to cope with stress of where the next charge comes from. All will change eventually.
