Back on today I…
As I am laid off from my usual day job, I have been helping out on our family farm where I live, as it is both lambing and calving time.
Already today (since midnight last night) I have delivered eleven lambs from multi-lamb ewes – sadly one of the runt lambs didn’t make it, but that’s farming!
Also assisted the vet (from a safe distance) with a caesarean calving on a heifer – mother and a baby bull doing well.
Animals have no respect of time of day/night or Coronavirus as to when they will give birth. However, in these troubled times it is nice to see new life appearing.
Now – it is bed time for me!
