The UK Government’s plan has always been to stretch this out for a minimum of 3 months.
It has nothing to do with ensuring the health of the public is protected.
One of the first things BoJo said in his little speech yesterday was that the Government was committed to ensuring economic growth.
Best case scenario is that only 20% of the public will contract the virus. That will bring the UK economy to its knees. If absenteeism can be kept below 10%, we might just break even.
China went in to lockdown relatively quickly and took the financial hit. We don’t have the resources to do that.
