Hi DeeBee 🙂
If you’re the same DeeBee from another forum I’m on (Y**r a**e) you may remember some of this 🙂
I had a Ford Kuga on Motability 1n 2015/16, we had a massive hail storm (2″ chunks!) and the bodywork was severely damaged, should really have been written off!. RSA (Motability’s insurers) insisted it went to Nationwide Car Repairs. It was back and forwards about 6 or 7 times over several months, every time it came back there was something else wrong with it, from bits of roof bar falling off, wipers put on in the wrong timing position to the front windscreen not being stuck in properly!.
Eventually they agreed to let my supplying Ford dealer sort it, they were not happy at all when they looked at all the work that had been bodged, the worst thing was the new roof Nationwide had fitted, it wasn’t put on properly at all, it was leaking water into the car and the entire roof lining was soaked through, they said the welding was so bad that if the car had rolled in an accident I could easily have been killed due to the lack of rigidity in the body.
Car was with Ford for almost 2 months while they waited for a new roof (and another bonnet) to be shipped over during the Xmas/New Year period. Got it back only to loose my mobility award when moved onto PIP. A few moths later I got a letter from someone asking if I was the previous owner as he was having trouble getting it to start, to say he was surprised when I sent him copies of all the photos and details of how much work had been done to it would be the understatement of the year!. His dealer of knew nothing about it!.
Sorry for the rant!, basically if you don’t know the cars real history and you’re not happy don’t accept it, return it as not fit for purpose.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
