The 118i is a 1.5L 3 cylinder isn’t it?
I test drove a 218i Active Tourer a few years ago and I found it to be a bit gruff, with not a huge amount of puff.
I would imagine it has been refined further in the intervening years, and presumably is a little more suited to the slightly smaller body of the 1-series.
