    Thanks for the thoughts but on that point surely it is to my mother benefit that I have access to the car at all time. Her disability often finds her freezing and locking up for example. Is it not always to her benefit that I have access to the vehicle to get back to her?

    It’s all so silly. If I were to go to the shops everytime as long as I grabbed her something that is then to her benefit.

    I in no way wish to misuse the vehicle and will hand it them back as opposed to breaking any of their rules. I just think their definition of benefit and misuse is far too vague and individual disabilities will differ greatly.

    The issue doesn’t appear to be whether my mum will benefit, but whether I will in the process which makes no sense. My mum will always benefit from me having access to the vehicle no matter where I am.

    Again if we are to argue that the benefit must be per journey then the vast majorety of times I can tweak the journey to benefit her. This is so easily done that the rule is practically unenforceable.
