There was never any doubt trump would be acquitted but he is still impeached and that can’t ever be removed from him. The system is a partisan joke however and the country’s entire presidential system needs a total overhaul but they don’t seem to realise it. There are no hard and fast rules as to what is required when the impeachment comes to the senate. The Republicans decided there would be no witnesses, a trial without witnesses is no trial at all. John Bolton, Trumps former national security advisor and more Trump than Trump himself indicated he would testify that Trump did use strong arm tactics on Ukraine to obtain “dirt” on a political opponent. The senate with a Republican majority voted not to hear it; a shambles.
