Phil, how big a boot do you need? The X1 has 505\1550 Litres which is pretty good for its class but struggles to accommodate many motorised chairs. The XTrail is a lot bigger of a car but only has 550. Not that much more for the difference in size of car. It is impressive with the seats down though at 1982 litres.
Perhaps another reason why the Tiguan is so popular with 615 /1665 litres.
