@DougieB The challenge that I suggested that you make was to the dealership, not Motability. It’s not really their issue. Over the years I have been on this forum there have been at least two other people in the same position as you. In both instances I gave them the same advice, which they used to formulate a letter or email. Within a week, both had their deposits refunded. I really don’t think that you will need to get as far as an ombudsman. The sales person is just being an ar@e
I understand, that is my next step. I was simply clarifying my position with Motability ahead of that. The salesman is indeed, an @-hole.
So you can chalk up another success! I mailed the branch manager on Monday incorporating your advice and lo and behold, they called me yesterday and the full £365 is already back in my bank account.
Thanks so much for the advice and with Q1 now up and running, the search begins for a replacement although in all honesty, with the Mini Countryman AP’s as they are, it’s a no brainer. I may even go the EV route!
Current car: Mini Countryman EV in very shiny black!
Previous car: MG HS Exclusive in nice shiny black.
