Whilst our current government has undoubtedly done more harm to the Motability scheme than any before it, I fear that it could get even worse in the future. Only this morning, Robert Jenrick (who would be chancellor under a Reform U.K. government) was on Sky News and said that “working people don’t understand how people living on benefits can have posh cars through Motability”.
I can’t remember the stats, but I recall that a high proportion of Motability customers do actually work and pay taxes!
